First Veronica Hill Mann Memorial Scholarships Awarded
Posted on September 23, 2026

The BTC Education Foundation is proud to announce the first recipients of the Veronica Hill Mann Memorial Scholarship: Lacy Ballinger of Bolivar (RN Bridge program) and Kayden Huchteman of Bolivar (Professional Nursing (RN) program). Each student received a $500 scholarship to use toward their nursing education at Bolivar Technical College (BTC).
The scholarship was established in early 2026 in memory of BTC alumna Veronica Hill Mann, who completed her LPN, RN and BSN education through BTC and worked as a nurse at CMH since 2020. Veronica was known for her perseverance, compassion and encouragement of others as a nurse, and the scholarship continues that legacy by helping BTC nursing students pursue their own educational goals.

“It is really special to see this scholarship come to fruition and be awarded to two outstanding future RNs,” said Erin Mock, Director of Nursing Education at BTC. “Veronica meant a great deal to many people, and I'm proud to see her legacy in nursing continue through this scholarship.”
Ballinger and Huchteman are the first students to receive the scholarship, made possible through generous donations to the Veronica Hill Mann Memorial Scholarship Fund. Continued support will allow the BTC Education Foundation to provide scholarships to more nursing students in the years ahead and continue Veronica’s legacy through future nurses.
Those who would like to honor Veronica’s memory and help make future scholarship awards possible can donate to the Veronica Hill Mann Memorial Scholarship Fund on our giving page.
